Thomas Hardy Society
The aim of the society is to promote the British novelist and poet’s works for both education and enjoyment. It is for scholars, students, readers, enthusiasts and anyone with an interest in Thomas Hardy.
Firebox began working with the society in 2011 to achieve an appropriately-styled and easy-to-navigate web presence with fully integrated blog, twitter feed and content management system. We continue to provide hosting, content management and SEO monitoring to date.
The Labour Party
As part of the 2010 Labour Leadership campaign, Firebox worked alongside graphic design agency Campbell Rowley to develop their designs into the official campaign web site for Ed Balls.
Later updated to replace EdBalls.co.uk, Firebox now hosts and manages the site from which Ed conducts his constituency and Shadow Chancellor roles in government.
STEP-A International
Strategic Technology in Education Policy Advice (STEP-A) International is a consultancy company specialising in providing strategic policy advice and support on the use of technology in education to targeted international governments, their agencies, industry and other partners.
Firebox created a new identity for STEP-A and translated this into a fresh and image-rich web presence.
csPortal
csPortal is a web-based management and communications tool designed for the every day contact centre environment.
As James' major university project, csPortal was developed for one of the UK's largest white label health insurance companies - FirstAssist Insurance Services; and is to be launched as as a commerical product this summer.
CEMP @ Bournemouth University
CEMP is a research and innovation centre based in the Media School at Bournemouth University.
As the centre's main web developer, recent projects include a full rebuild of the central CEMP site, blog adaptations for CEMP Conversations and the Manfiesto for Media Education, as well as a sub project for the Media Education Summit 2011.
AECC Bournemouth
The Anglo-European College of Chiropractic is the oldest and largest chiropractic college in Europe, standing at the forefront of chiropractic education and research in Europe for over forty years.
Firebox are currently working with the AECC to develop an external learning portal from which distance learning students can accesss coruse materials and content.
Poole Literary Festival
Founded in April 2009 by Sue Luminati, the festival provides adults, children and families with the opportunity to meet some of their favourite authors through a programme of workshops, discussions and events based in Poole.
Working from a basic homepage design, Firebox developed the entire site to incude other jQuery elements such a recently added authors carousel on the homepage.
Gina's Place
Gina's Place is an authentic, Italian themed delicatessen, bistro and restaurant situated within Paphos Harbour, Cyprus.
For almost 10 years they have worked hard to earn the reputation of being purveyors of the finest foods and wines on the island.
First joining forces with Gina's Place in 2005 to design, develop and launch their web presence, Firebox revisited the project again in April 2009 to update the brand with a fresh contemporary style.
Festival Events
Festival is a weekly club night aimed at students who cannot quite afford the Friday and Saturday night prices of clubbing. The theme of the event is clearly 'Festival', with Indie, Drum & Bass, Dubstep and Electro as the main source of music.
Anthems* is a seasonal event, hosted during the summer months at Barracuda in Newquay.
Firebox designed the identity and promotional materials such as flyers and posters for both the 'Festival' and 'Anthems' brands.
Wired Wednesdays
Wired Wednesdays is a weekly student event held at Crash Manor in Plymouth boasting free entry alongside a great selection of tunes and drinks deals.
Unlike other local Wedneday night promotions, the agenda is fresh non-commerical music including Urban, Drum & Bass and Dubstep.
Firebox desiged both the 'Wired Wednesdays' identity and promotional materials for the event.
Pelican Childrens Centre
Pelican was setup in Plymouth almost 10 years ago with lottery funding to provide childcare services to the local community of Keyham.
The centre required a credible web presence in order to compete with other childcare providers in area, so we began by refreshing their existing brand identity, marketing materials and internal docuementation. We then designed and developed a new website, giving them an easy to use, appealable and accessible point of contact for existing and new parents.
Pride London
The two week Pride festival uses theatre, music, debate, art and entertainment to raise awareness of discrimination and the issues and difficulties affecting the lives of LGBT people around the world.
Working with the event management, Firebox designed a series of security lanyards for use across the central London event in July 2010.
Crash Events
Making waves as Plymouth's brand new night spot, the 600 capacity Crash Manor venue is spread out over 2 floors and has been given a new lease of life with funky décor, new furnishings and a brand new layout.
Recent big names to grace the club include Sean Tyas, Simon Patterson, Super8 & Tab, Matt Hardwick, Richard Durand & Jordan Suckley.
Firebox is appointed to the venue to develop their promotional flyers and posters.
Superior Decking
Superior Decking are Devon and Cornwall's leading provider of domestic and commerical carpenty services. Founded in 2000, the local - family run business have grown to provide proffesional products without the exagerated price tag.
Firebox were appointed to develop a simple web presence from which the company could attract new business and clients. We also succesfully positioned Superior Decking at No.1 in Google's results under the 'plymouth decking' and 'south west decking' terms.
After-Dark Events
After-Dark was a weekly trance and electro night held from late 2006 - early 2009 at Plymouth's biggest underground music venue, C103.
Guest DJs during the events time at the venue included Dave Pearce, The Tidy Boys, Signum, Micky Slim, The Organ Donors & Marco V.
Firebox were appointed to design a selection of the monthly promotional flyers and posters.
Gray Marketing
GrayMarketing was founded by Melanie Gray after she had worked for several years as a senior Marketer within some of the UKs leading companies such as Vodafone, and the Halifax.
As an independent consultancy, Gray brings together a network of experts across the field of customer engagement. Firebox worked with Gray to establish their brand image and transfer this into clean, accessible web presence and identity package.
Ovayamii Couture
Founded by Mariam Musa, Ovayamii Couture design and make hand crafted jewels through a variety of methods and materials.
Firebox worked with Mariam to establish her brand images for which an identity package was then created. We are also now in the inital stages of bringing the Ovayammi brand to the web.
Audiotek
Fronted by Plymouth based producers Andy Prosser & Ross Mackenzie, Audiotek is the alias carried on their UK trance and hard dance productions.
Releases to date include "Feedback" and "Contact" alongside numerous collaborations with Kidd Kaos.
Firebox worked with Audiotek to establish their identity package and logo.
FrequencyFM
frequencyFM was a commumnity based radio project founded by Mike Steventon & Arron Jones. With initial funding from the Prince's Trust, the station was setup to provide listeners with a variety of electronic music online.
Firebox was brought in to redevelop the stations existing template based site; through the combination of a new new indentity and full interactive web presence.
The new site was launched in Jan 2009; however due to other commitments from its founders, was taken offline later in the year.
